Ben Fordham balances fatherhood with a career as a popular 2GB radio host and TV presenter.

And when his wife Jodie Speers resumed her role as a presenter on 7 Early News in August, they were in desperate need of a nanny for their three children, Freddy, six, Pearl, four, and Marigold, one.

On Friday, the 44-year-old revealed to Stellar that he found the perfect person in the aisles of his local Bunnings.

The publication reveals that, six moths prior, Ben had met a grandmother, Pam, in the hardware store and he thought she would make a great guest on his radio program.

But, when it came time to find a nanny, he knew that she would be the perfect fit.

‘Most people use an agency to find babysitters,’ he told the publication.

It comes after Ben enjoyed a day off and took his four-year-old daughter Pearl to the hairdresser earlier this month.

He shared an adorable photo of Pearl after taking her to the hair salon for a cut and blow dry.

In the picture, Pearl smiled for the camera as she showed off her new hairstyle while sitting on a chair.

Ben wrote: ‘Never imagined I’d get such joy out of a wash and blow but here we are.’
