Hayman Island is the most northerly of the Whitsunday Islands.

The private island, which is owned by a Malaysian conglomerate, was forced to close two years ago after it was hit by tropical cyclone Debbie.

Its management was taken over by the InterContinental group following the storm and it will reopen this July. The property underwent a makeover worth over $100million, with 166 rooms set to offer guests the ultimate in barefoot luxury.
