A video of Prime Minister Boris Johnson dancing with a lightsabre-wielding London Assembly member at a Christmas party nearly ten years ago has re-emerged amid news of more Downing Street parties.
The widely-shared footage of what is believed to be a 2013 bash set Twitter and Instagram ablaze today.
One wag who posted it added the caption ‘It was a work event in the basement actually’.
The footage shows Mr Johnson dancing with Jeanette Arnold OBE, who had been a member of the London Assembly since 2000.
Ms Arnold – who became chair in 2015 – seems unlikely to be sharing a dancefloor with the PM in the future.
This week she tweeted her disgust at the reports of the No 10 lockdown breaking parties.
She said: ‘I doubt whether the PM has an honest bone in his body so regrettably he is not going to do the decent thing and resign.’
The PM looked very youthful as he danced to the lively strains of All Night Long at the bash

Mr Johnson looked to be having a whale of a time on the black and white checked floor
The dancing video shows Mr Johnson and Ms Arnold dancing as she holds an illuminated blue lightsaber.
It is actually a Lucasfilm prop apparently given to the now-PM by the late Christopher Lee, who starred in the hit films.
Internet merriment at Mr Johnson’s explanation of the May 2020 party showed no sign of abating today.
One photoshop-savvy Twitter user created a new version of the Now That’s What I Call A Party Anthems – of course swapping the word ‘party’ for ‘work event’.
Another changed Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey’s surname to the same thing.
Elsewhere a photoshoot of the PM and Rishi Sunak with beer barrels was reappropriated for a predictable new purpose.
And one prankster even joked about the Met Commissioner turning to music as a DJ named Cressida Decks.

Meanwhile a picture of a nightclub rave was captioned as a ‘work event’ by one witty web user.
A group of people in a swimming pool holding drinks were given similar treatment.
And an illustration of a group of primates having a tea party was captioned ‘Yet another work event for the money worshipping cult’.
This morning the Prime Minister’s former director of communications apologised over a No 10 party the night before the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
James Slack, who until last year was Mr Johnson’s director of communications, apologised on Friday morning for the ‘anger and hurt’ his leaving party in April 2021 had caused.

Mr Slack said he took ‘full responsibility’ and was ‘deeply sorry’.
It came after The Telegraph reported that advisers and civil servants gathered after work for two separate events on April 16 2021, as the country was in a period of mourning after the death of Prince Philip.
The events were to mark the departures of Mr Slack and one of the Prime Minister’s personal photographers, the newspaper said.
The two events are said to have started separately and later merged.
