Freedomroo – Taylor Swift responds to Sophie Turner’s thoughts about song… amid rumors it is about Joe Jonas

No rivalry here: Taylor Swift (seen left in May 2019) put out previously-unreleased track Mr. Perfectly Fine which is rumored to be about Joe Jonas

Swifties were in disbelief as Taylor Swift put out previously unreleased track Mr. Perfectly Fine which is believed to be about ex Joe Jonas.

However things took an interesting turn as the 31-year-old pop megastar and Jonas’ wife Sophie Turner exchanged pleasantries about the song on social media.

The 25-year-old British actress Turner took to her Instagram to candidly react to the song’s release as she wrote: ‘It’s not NOT a bop.’

Taylor reciprocated the banter by screenshotting the post and making light of Sophie’s Game Of Thrones character Sansa Stark by captioning it: ‘forever bending the knee for the [queen] of the north.’

Sophie married Joe in May 2019 as over a decade later The Jonas Brothers member had dated Taylor in 2008.

Many Swifties believe that the new track released from the ‘vault’ is indeed about Joe as Taylor previously admitted to writing Fearless song Forever And Always about her relationship with Jonas and that since Mr. Perfectly Fine did not make the cut of the 2008 album it was likely written at the same time.

However Swift has not confirmed whether the track about a long lost love who ‘looked me in the eye and told me you would never go away’ is indeed about The Jonas Brothers member.

Things seem to be all good between the trio as Swift had mentioned in her 2020 song Invisible String that she had sent Sophie and Joe a present for their baby girl, Willa, who was born last July.

On Wednesday, Taylor dropped the surprise song  ahead of the re-release of her 2008 hit album Fearless later this week.

Recently, Taylor has been re-recording her first six albums after Scooter Braun purchased her entire music catalog out from underneath of her and then sold it without her knowledge.

The re-released albums will contain the original track lists, as well as songs she contemporaneously wrote or recorded but didn’t make the initial cut at the time – Mr. Perfectly Fine is one such pop tune.

Taylor took to social media to announce the new song from her vault with a cheeky meme: ‘Me in 2020: life is chill, writing songs based in fiction to avoid drama, feeling pretty grown up

‘My 2008 music from the vault, in a goblin voice: ‘REELEEEEEEASE MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE’

The post-break up anthem has the same vibe as the rest of her Fearless tunes, with an upbeat pop melody along with the slight country undertones she was known for at the time.

It’s about a guy who broke Taylor’s heart and moved on without issue while she picked up the emotional pieces – very of-the-moment for 2008 Taylor who was still in her teens.

‘Hello, Mr. Perfectly fine / How’s your heart after breaking mine?/ Mr. always at the right place at the right time, baby / Hello, Mr. casually cruel / Mr. everything revolves around you / I’ve been Miss misery since your goodbye / And you’re Mr. perfectly fine,’ Taylor croons.

The song is her second ‘from the vault’ track released thus far. Earlier this week she dropped You All Over Me which featured country star Maren Morris, along with the full track list for Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

‘Here’s the full track list, my friends. I’m really honored that @keithurban is a part of this project, duetting on That’s When and singing harmonies on We Were Happy,’ she wrote on social media.

‘I was his opening act during the Fearless album era and his music has inspired me endlessly. I’m counting down the minutes til we can all jump into this brave world together, filled with equal parts nostalgia and brand newness,’ Taylor added.

Swift has been laser focused on work in the last 12 months, recording and releasing her two latest critically acclaimed and Grammy-winning albums during lockdown, Folklore A and Evermore.

She was also simultaneously re-recording her first six albums, as well as those additional vault tracks, for re-release.

‘I’ve been having a really great time re-recording my older music,’ Taylor told GMA back in November.

‘I think it’s been the most fun doing Love Story because because, the older music, my voice was so teenaged,’ she explained. ‘Sometimes when I hear my older music and my older, young teenage voice it makes me feel like I’m a different singer.

‘I like to go back and re-record ones that I feel like I could possibly improve upon the song,’ she added.

Bad blood: While Swift called re-doing all her hard work a 'fun adventure' during a GMA interview in 2020, she's made it perfectly clear she's furious with Scooter Braun, who bought and sold her music without her say,

While Swift called re-doing all her hard work a ‘fun adventure’ during her interview, she’s made it perfectly clear there is bad blood between herself and Scooter Braun, who bought and sold her music without her say.

Braun, a 39-year-old music executive, unloaded the master rights to Taylor’s first six albums to private equity firm Shamrock Holdings in a deal believed to be well over $300 million in 2020.

Taylor called him out over the sale in a social media post and claimed that he intentionally kept her in the dark while he turned a hefty profit on her hard work.

Prior to the that, in 2019 Braun had purchased Nashville-based independent record label Big Machine, first taking the rights to Taylor’s body of work and at the time, she voiced public outrage at being cut out of the deal.

Swift said the news made her ‘sad and grossed out’ because, in part, she claims Braun perpetuated ‘incessant, manipulative bullying’ against her for years.
