‘All you need is three simple ingredients: washing powder, a cap-full of NapiSan and a cap-full of bleach.’

To wash the trainers, the 30-year-old demonstrated that you should pour all of the ingredients into the dispenser inside the washing machine, put the trainers inside and set the machine to a cold wash.

‘Pop it in on a cold wash so that you don’t melt the glue,’ Simone said.

A cold wash also means that you won’t shrink your shoes.

Once the sneakers are out of the washing machine, Simone said all you need to do is air dry them until they are ready to go again.

You should never use a tumble dryer as this might mean the shoes shrink or change shape.

Thousands who saw Simone’s simple technique were impressed and said they would love to try it for themselves, but some were confused as to whether the bleach would take off the markings of their shoes.

‘It’s only the smallest diluted amount that won’t fade any colours,’ Simone insisted.

Another commenter added: ‘This is good to know, I’ve always been so worried about trying it. This is going to change my life for my whites washing forever! You are the best, thanks for sharing!’

A third wrote: ‘I love how you don’t even have to take out the laces. So handy!’

Simone has led an extraordinary life after she made headlines around the world for her jaw-dropping weight loss, which started in August 2014 at the age of 23.

Over the following years, she shared incredible ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs of her body transformation, documented the rewarding moments and painful challenges along the way.

When Simone took charge of her 169-kilo weight, she opted to get gastric sleeve surgery to help her in her quest to be healthy.

Gastric sleeve surgery involves removing a piece of someone’s stomach somewhere between 60 and 90 per cent, depending on your size.

‘I lost half my body weight, [but] my weight never defined me as a person, I was still the same bubbly, outgoing, driven and organised Simone but it definitely limited the life I could live,’ Simone previously said.

‘Gastric sleeve surgery saved my life, I don’t believe I would be alive today without this life-changing surgery.’

She learned that she couldn’t survive off a diet of processed foods and soft drinks, but rather needed to nourish her body with wholefoods and plenty of water.

‘I was not perfect, I had things like Weight Watchers jelly to substitute that sweet craving going on,’ she explained.

But her eating habits had changed, and she coupled this with a dedicated attitude towards fitness where she worked out daily.

Several years after she lost the bulk of the weight, she said it has become a way of life to eat clean 80 per cent and work out daily.

Simone has also had a nine-hour surgery that cost $20,000 to remove all of the excess skin that was left from her weight loss, and underwent a tummy tuck, a bra line back lift, a breast lift and augmentation.
