Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to sign Barcelona full-back Emerson this summer – but face competition from PSG and both Milan clubs.
The Catalan giants are keen to sell the 22-year-old and have put a £21million (€25m) price tag on the Brazilian, with the cash-strapped club needing to sell before they can buy once the window reopens.
According to Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, Spurs are among a number of potential suitors interested in taking on the player, who currently plays his football at Real Betis.
Tottenham have entered the race to sign Barcelona defender Emerson – who is valued at £21m
Emerson is partly-owned by Betis after they agreed a joint-deal with Barcelona to sign the right-back from Atletico Mineiro for £11.2m in 2019.
The move was a joint financial operation between Barcelona and Betis, with the latter agreeing to pay half of the transfer fee so that they could retain a percentage of Emerson’s economic rights.
Estadio Deportivo go on to claim that Barca currently own 50 per cent of the player but have the option to purchase another 30 per cent from Betis if they so wish.
The report goes on to claim that Betis, who would like to keep him, will find it ‘impossible’ to sign him permanently due to lack of funds.
Emerson’s current deal with Betis runs until the end of the season, when Barcelona will have the option to sign him for £5.2m.

However, the report from Estadio Deportivo suggests that both Barcelona and Betis are keen to work out a deal that will ‘satisfy everyone’ but believe making a profit on the player will be complicated.
Spurs are in the market for a new right back, given how Jose Mourinho has lost faith with both Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier in recent months, which has seen him play academy graduate Japhet Tanganga at right back as a result.
Along with Spurs, PSG, Inter, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the player.
Last summer, Emerson admitted he was keen on making a permanent move to Barcelona, claiming it has been his ‘dream’ ever since he was a child.
Emerson told AS last year: ‘I didn’t think I’d get to this level so early. I think this season I’m having is without a doubt the best of my life. Things are going quickly for me. I’m young, but I’m ready to play for any team.
‘Yes, I’m ready to play for Barcelona. I’ve also been asked before about going up to the Brazil senior team and my answer was the same.’

Emerson added that he wouldn’t be fazed by the prospect of playing for Barcelona.
He said: ‘I’m not scared at all. Playing for Barca is a dream I’ve had since I was a child. I was always a Barca fan for the Brazilian stars that played there, like Ronaldinho or Dani Alves. And also for (Lionel) Messi or (Eric) Abidal.
‘I have four idols: Dani Alves, Cafu, Roberto Carlos and Marcelo. Many people compare my story with Alves’, yes. He’s an example. I also want to play in the Champions League with Barcelona and win as many cups as possible.’
This season, Emerson has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Betis, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
